Too Sick for School

HANDWASHING is the single most important way to keep from getting sick.

If a child has:

1)had a fever of 100 degrees or more, the child should stay home for 24 hours after the temperature has returned to normal.

2)vomited or had diarrhea, the child should stay home until 24 hours after the last episode.

3)any rash that my be disease-related, if you do know know the cause, check with your family doctor before sending your child to school.

4)been treated for strep, your child must be out of school 24 hours after antibiotic treatment is started and until the child is feeling well enough to be in class.

5)symptoms of influenza(chills, body aches, headache, fever, sore throat, followd by cough, runny nose, & possibly stomach ache) exclude from school until well, usually 2-7 days.

By following these guidlines, the risk to all students can be kept to a minimum. Please call the attendance line to report an absence at 651-982-3203.

Field Trip Volunteers/Chaperones

If you are interested in being a chaperone on field trips, you must pass a criminal background check as required by the Forest Lake Area Schools School Board.  If you have been approved by this process at an earlier date with FLAS, you do not need to reapply.  Please allow two weeks for processing these forms, which can be picked up in the FLE Office.
